The Best Cookware Sets by Paula Deen – Reviewed

Paula Deen cookware has long been coveted for its vibrant colours and design as well as its functionality. There are many stunning designs in the Paula Deen range and we are going to look at the most popular and our favourites. If you are looking for a striking cookware set that will make a statement in your kitchen then the Paula Deen collection is a great place to start looking.

1. Paula Deen Signature Nonstick 15-Piece Porcelain Cookware Set

This first set has been an incredibly popular seller on Amazon.com and at the time of writing has nearly 1800 reviews. It’s not surprising that this set is so popular as it comes in 7 different striking colors all with a distinctive speckled finish.

Not only is the exterior very beautiful but it is very durable, stain resistant and very easy to clean. It heats up evenly and cooks food really well. While not compatible with induction cookware which is a huge shame these pans perform very well on every other cook top type.

The interiror is a durable Dupont Teflon coated non stick surface making the cleaning of these pans really easy. We wouldn’t recommend putting them in the dishwasher because of this coating. These pans are oven safe to 350 degrees F.

The pans lids come with colour coded copper plated knobs which look fantastic.

Another unique design feature of this set is the copper ring that is attached to each handle. This is so you can hang the pans up in your kitchen and display them for everyone to see. With such a striking design it would be a shame not to.

Set Includes:

  • 2 qt. cov. Saucepan
  • 6 qt. cov. Stockpot
  • 2.75 qt. cov. Saute

2. Paula Deen 12 Piece Riverbend Aluminum Nonstick Cookware Set

Another striking set this time available in 3 colors. Gulf Blue Speckle, Lavendar Speckle and Red Speckle. This is a great value set and at the time of writing was well under $100. An absolute bargain for such a beautiful cookware set.

This set is also non stick but this one is rated as being dishwasher safe for quick and easy cleanups.

The aluminum exterior heats up very quickly and cooks evenly. Unfortunately they are not compatible with induction cook tops again. Considering how popular induction cooking is becoming it’s a shame that sets as beautiful as this aren’t compatible.

Oven safe to 350 degrees. A decent temperature but not in the range of the premium sets made by Analon and All Clad. There is a significant price difference obviously.

The shatter-resistant glass lids let you keep an eye on what’s happening inside the pan but the lids aren’t quite as well designed as the lids on the previous set in our list.

The set includes a Paula Deen nylon slotted turner and slotted spoon that are will not harm the non stick coating. You can use your own utensils but we would advise sticking with the nylon variety as metal utenisils may damage the non stick coating.

3. Paula Deen Signature Stainless Steel II 12-Piece Cookware Set

This set is in a more traditional design with a mirrored stainless steel finish.

This is a very durable set and has been tested in professional kitchens standing up well to the demands of professional cooking. The sauce pans are stainless steel and the skillets are aluminum both lined with a teflon coated non stick surface.

The stay cool handles are ergonomically designed but aren’t quite as nice to look at as other sets from Paula Deen. Neither are the pan lids. The knobs are unnecessarily oversized and featured none of the design beauty that can be seen on the first set in our list. This is a shame as not everyone likes brightly colored sets and there is still a huge market for traiditonal stainless steel. Again though this set is very reasonably priced and offers great value.

There are hanging rings here but again they aren’t anywhere near as nice as the rings that were included on set number 1. These are functional but a bit ugly in our opinion.  You won’t find any problems with the way this set cooks but you may be a bit disapointed with the design.

This cookware is also oven safe to 350 degrees F.

Set includes 1, 2 and 3-quart Covered Saucepans; 6-quart Covered Stockpot; 8 and 10-inch Aluminum Nonstick Skillets; Slotted Turner; Slotted Spoon.

4. Paula Deen Savannah Collection Aluminum Nonstick 12-Piece Nonstick Cookware Set, Red

We are big fans of this set. Mainly for its beautiful design and great value. This set comes from the Paula Deen Savannah collection. The exterior is a beautiful red with the interior being an ivory satin finish. The exterior also features a ‘scalloped’ finish that is not something we have seen on other cookware sets so these really stand out straight away. It is also unique for a true non stick surface to be this color instead of the usual black.

Because of the design choices made here we found that this set wasn’t as durable as it could be. This set is great for occasional and general use but look elsewhere if you are a serious cook planning on heavy use. The set is oven safe to 350 degrees F.

Set includes: 1-Quart, 1-1/2-Quart and 2-Quart Covered Saucepans, 6-Quart Covered Stockpot, 8-Inch and 10-Inch Skillets, Slotted Turner, Slotted Spoon

5. Paula Deen 21993 11 Piece Dishwasher Safe Nonstick Cookware Set, Large, Copper

Another striking design from Paula Deen Cookware here with a beautiful copper set. This set would great in a traditionally style kitchen and they come with hanging rings on the handles so you can show them off.

Despite looking like copper these pans aluminum for fast and even heating.  The interior is again non stick and it performs really well when cooking and cleaning. Despite this these pans are dishwasher safe.

The lids are shatter resistant and the knobs are accented with copper to finish of the copper based theme. Again though we find these handles slightly oversized. These are big pans though with heavy lids so that could be why the knobs are so large.
