The Best Coffee Makers With Grinder Reviewed

Pre ground coffee can be delicious but you never really get the quality or taste from it that you can get from freshly ground coffee beans. If you are wanting to grind your own coffee at home then you might want to consider buying a coffee maker with the grinder built in. If you are planning on using a french press then a stand alone coffee grinder will be the best option for you. So here are our picks for the best coffee makers with a built in grinder currently available. We have taken the price and value into consideration when making our judgement as these coffee makers can vary wildly in price.

1. Gourmia GCM4700 Coffee Maker With Built In Grinder

This is a nice and tidy unit with a classic design. It’s a popular seller and is a great choice for any coffee enthusiast. It’s very simple to use and there a few different options for making your coffee. Unfortunately it doesn’t have any selectable grinding options.

This is a great choice if you are wanting coffee in a rush. Nice and easy to use and it grinds and brews the coffee quickly. Perfect option to put into action on a busy morning as you rush out to work.

The coffee it produces is pretty good but we did get better results from some of the other devices on this list.

The Gourmia will keep your coffee hot for up to 30 minutes and then it will automatically shut off to save power and for obvious safety reasons. It’s quite a compact unit so perfect if you are limited on counter space. This is programmable so you can wake up to fresh coffee everyday.

2. Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind & Brew Thermal 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker

This expertly made grind and brew from Cuisinart is one of our favorites as it makes a great cup of coffee and has enough options to keep most enthusiasts satisfied without breaking the bank. This one uses a burr grinder that produces excellent results. Burr grinders are much better than blade grinders as they produce a more even grind. There are plenty of grinding options here too. You can select the strength of the brew as well.

Once the coffee has brewed it is fed into a insulated stainless steel thermal carafe which holds up to 12 cups of coffee. This carafe keeps the coffee warm for quite a long time without needing to be reheated so it saves a bit of electricity there. There is no hot plate here but the carafe is so well insulated that the coffee stays warm for hours.

Again you program this to come on at whatever time you choose so you can wake up to that freshly brewed coffee smell everyone loves without having to touch the machine. Just make sure it is prepped with coffee and water the night before.

This is a great looking item that comes from a trusted and reliable brand name. We loved it.

3. Breville BES870XL Barista Express Espresso Machine

If you are looking for the perfect espresso maker then look no further. This Breville is pretty much as good as it gets and it offers more options than you get on some industry grade machines.

This device is a lot more complicated than the others on this list and we nearly didn’t include it but it’s such a popular item that we felt we had to. We say it’s complicated but once you use it a few times you will be absolutely fine, it just can be a bit daunting at first.

It comes in a few different colors and looks great in all of them.

Again this one uses a burr grinder which has a range of options for how fine or coarse you want your powder. It has an excellent grinder on this machine, one of the best and that is reflected in the price of this coffee maker.

It comes with a load of accessories: Precision Razor dose trimming tool, Single & Dual Wall filter baskets (4), Stainless steel milk jug, Water filter holder & filter and a Cleaning Kit.

If you want an espresso maker check this out before you look at anything else. A really fun machine that makes amazing coffee.

4. DeLonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica Super-Automatic Espresso/Coffee Machine

DeLonghi have long been associated with great coffee makers so you know this is going to be a great choice. This machine can make various different types of coffee such as cappuccino and espresso. It has a fantastic frother to make professional standard cappuccino’s right at home.

There is no carafe with this one, instead it makes coffee by the cup. So not the type of machine you want if you want to have a pot you can keep topping up from. However if you need to make a few cups at once there is no waiting around, it can start making another cup as soon as it’s finished with its first cup. It keeps the water at the same temperature as it works so you don’t have to wait for it to reheat it.

This again has a conical burr grinder with various grinding options for your fresh beans.

It’s endlessly customizable so you can make your coffee exactly how you want it. Oh and it can make 2 cups at once which is a fantastic feature and it looks really cool as well.

5. Black & Decker 12-Cup Mill and Brew Coffeemaker

If you are looking for a bit of a bargain then consider this option from Black & Decker.

Another great option if you want the machine to jump into life first thing on a morning as this too is programmable. It keeps everything really simple with 1 touch buttons on the face of the machine.  Of course you don’t get the range of options that you get with others but this still brews up a great cup of coffee.

One thing we like about this one is that it shuts off when you lift the carafe so you can get the first cup out before it is finished without making a mess.

It comes in a few different color choices. This is well made, today coffee machine that wouldn’t look out of place in any kitchen. Black and Decker are known for making precision tools so you know there is good engineering behind all of their devices. It’s easy to clean and the carafe can go straight in the dishwasher if you want.

It comes in red, black and a slightly odd white color.
